Building bridges
Planning a project in a foreign country requires collaboration with people who have a different mindset, a different work attitude and different believes in general. It needs people who are interested in the subject and are willing to overcome these challenges.
In my personal experience, to succeed in dealing with these issues doesn’t just make you grow personally. It makes you learn about yourself in a different environment it makes you respect different rules and values and adapt to them. But most importantly, it makes you build relationships with incredible people that otherwise you would have never gotten to know.
I want to thank Laily, who was my right hand during my time in Yogyakarta. She helped me to organize education events, print leaflets and deal with local authorities. Her positive spirit and good energy were heartwarming. I am very happy to not only have created a very promising professional contact, but also a friend, who gives me very different perspectives on my ideas.
I am happy to plan and help Laily organize an Internship in Europe in 2020 and hope to welcome her to my home soon.

Sustainability
This fruitful collaboration is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year. It was funded in 2008. Ever since it has given great opportunities to people. It has enabled many students, young professionals and scientists to gain an amazing experience and to interchange knowledge. Through the intercultural and international exchange of ideas and techniques, many people have been enhanced. Especially the local population of Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta Province has gained a lot of support and has enriched the experiences of people to a great extent. We want to maintain this great option of interchange and experiences on this high level and are looking forward to collaborating with great, interesting people from different parts of the world for years to come.
